August 2001 Newsletter
During our annual Founders Day celebration at the Golden Lamb, we learned more about the Cardiac Care Grant from Barb Rinto from UCs Womens Health Department. Susan Barrick of the Foundation Board was on hand to present the Grant. We also took this opportunity to honor Carol Glotfelters dedicated service to our group by presenting the donations you made in her honor to Foundation. We had a Candle Party fund-raiser in November at Katie Meyers home, and the event raised just over $200. In December, we celebrated the holidays at Erin Messersmiths. We traveled to provide lunch for the Gamma Nus during recruitment in January. Then in February, the Ivy Connection gathered at TGI Fridays for a nice chance to chat. Speaking of Ivy Connection, they were busy traveling to see Gamma Nu as often as they could, and in April, they welcomed the graduating seniors into the ranks of alumnaehood. Erin Messersmith served as a coordinator for Ivy Connection for the last year and a half. Due to a job change requiring her to travel, she has stepped down. Our thanks to Erin for her time and dedication! Thanks also to Kate OHara who will be continuing to plan Ivy Connection events. Mary Ann Mangold organized our Flower Sale in May. We sold more than $120 in flowers. Many thanks to Mary Ann and all those who purchased flowers. Our calendar is enclosed, and Katie Meyer, VP of Programming, has worked very hard to find the right combination of new and exciting events while keeping the traditional favorites. I look forward to seeing you soon! AOE, Your Volunteers Please feel free to contact us at any time if you ever have any questions or concerns. We look forward to serving you! Nominating Committee and

News from Gamma Nu The most important part of the year was Recruitment 2001. We had an excellent turnout of women who joined our chapter. They are an amazing group of women, and we are looking forward to some great times ahead. The seniors ended the year with the traditional alumni ceremony and many recent Miami graduates and alumni attended. We were very grateful to those in attendance. We hope that this year will be even better than the last and that we will be able to work with the Cincinnati chapter even more. We would like to include our dues paying members on their alumnae e-mailing list. You will receive periodic updates via e-mail on activities that the collegians are involved in and opportunities to get involved if you wish. If you do not want to receive the e-mails all you will need to do is simply reply to sender in the first few e-mails, and you will be taken off the list. Gamma Nu Advisors Karen and Victoria are interested in using our years of experience to help enhance the chapters recruitment capabilities. If you are interested in helping, please contact Karen or Victoria.
